The creep behaviors of 15% volume fraction TiBw/Ti and (TiBw+TiCp)/Ti composites and unreinforced Ti matrix were investigated in the temperature range of 798 to 848 K. The two composites exhibited stress exponents of 4.6-4.7 and 4.3-4.5 with activation energies of 294 and 343 kJ/mol, respectively. The creep resistances of TiBw/Ti and (TiBw+TiCp)/Ti are higher than that of unreinforced Ti, while the resistance of (TiBw+TiCp)/Ti is higher than that of TiBw/Ti. It is further shown that no threshold stress exists in composites and matrix. The creep mechanisms of both composites are dislocation-climbing mechanism.
